INTRODUCTION
Information Research Institute of Shandong Academy of Sciences （www.sdasinfo.org.cn）was established in1983 as a research library. It is one of important information research service organizations of Shandong province. Now it has Information Department, Document Retrieval Center, Training Center, Research Center, Editorial Office of Shandong Science, etc. The institute has constructed multi-level information materials and provided full-oriented services for scientific researchers.
Digital Library
It hosts comprehensive holdings, including extensive collections of electronic journals, e-books, dissertations, scientific and technological achievements, conference papers, patents and national standards. The electronic collection has reached 200 million articles and the printed collection 340,000 volumes. It provides consultation, reference and access to various online databases, which help patrons do their research.
Novelty Search
Novelty Search, whose aim at providing novelty search service for the research community , is to gather related bibliographic documents by retrieval and ultimately offer a reasonable, analytical report after investigation and comparison, according to a given research project .
<Shandong Science>
Shandong Science, a bimonthly issue, is a comprehensive science journal sponsored by Shandong Academy of Sciences. It aims at providing fundamental research in many areas of science and some high-level, innovative, significant and the latest academic fruits in applied research, which includes special comments, paper, research letters, applications of engineering, etc.

The scientific research direction and breakthrough is the method of information service, information analysis and bibliometric research, which emphases on the construction of information service platform, S&T decision-making and strategic planning, knowledge management, statistic of literature information, intellectual property right strategy, etc.
